Vocational Studies Australia, as part of its education revolution to the world is introducing World Wide- Distance Education. VSA provides vocational courses in many disciplines including, Motor Mechanic or Automotive Technology, Optical Mechanic or Optical Technology and Optical Dispensing, Hospitality Management, Retail Baking (Bread, Cake & Pastry), Patisserie, Information Technology and Management. Vocational courses are hands-on, practical training programs which help you to gain valuable skills and experience that are directly linked to your chosen career path. The courses are also great if exams and lectures aren't your thing, as a major component of vocational assessment is demonstration of the practical skills that you have learned and developed during your training program. The development of these skills enables graduates to effectively multi-skill and, in turn, offers a wider choice of employment opportunities. Time management and the ability to meet deadlines plays an important role in your training program and during your studies you will compile a portfolio of evidence (plans, reports, schedules, drawings, videos, etc.) which you can use to demonstrate your abilities to future employers.
Whether you want to gain new skills so you can start your career, return to the workforce, change careers, start a business or gain a pathway to university, there is a range of study options to help you create your own success. All of our training programs have been developed in consultation with industry leaders to ensure they maintain relevancy in the constantly changing workplace. This development is enhanced by delivery of the training by highly qualified and caring professional trainers and support staff.
As part of Distance Education, VSA would like to make this method of study experience, user friendly, cost effective and reliable. This method involves assessing an applicant in two sections.
The first section involves assessing applicants for underpinning knowledge and critical skills through various portfolio of evidence like question and answers, assignments plans, reports, schedules, drawings, videos, etc.
The second section involves performance skills within the parameters of industry employability skills. Assessment of the applicant in this section requires either on the job or simulated work place environment.
On achieving first section by distant education, applicant will be presented with an AWARD OF ACHIEVEMENT.
To secure qualification under AQTF 2010, applicants have to undertake second section and demonstrate their performance skills either at a VSA approved workplace or VSA approved simulated workplace environment. This part needs to be discussed and negotiated with VSA.
